On behalf of the Maa’too’maa’taapii Aoko’iyii’piaya Elders Advisory Committee, Chief Housing Officer Reid Hendry, and the City of Calgary Indigenous Housing Team, we are honoured to extend a personal invitation to you to attend and participate in the upcoming Maa’too’maa’taapii Aoko’iyii’piaya program pipe ceremony and media announcement.
In recognition of the strong and meaningful relationship between the City of Calgary and Siksika Off Reserve Affordable Housing (SORAH), and in acknowledgement of Siksika’s leadership in advancing Indigenous housing, we would be deeply honoured by your presence at this
important gathering.
Through the Maa’too’maa’taapii Aoko’iyii’piaya program, SORAH is receiving capital funding to support the development of additional nonmarket homes, along with other City supports, including:
- Funding through the Housing Accelerator Fund
- Predevelopment funding
- Development fee rebates
- Two nonmarket land sale sites awarded in Erin Woods and Dover, supporting
longterm housing outcomes
Given the strength of our connection and the significance of this moment, the
Elders Advisory Committee, Chief Housing Officer Reid Hendry, and the Indigenous Housing Team would be honoured if you would:
- Join the Mayor of Calgary, City Councillors, Indigenous Housing leadership, and program recipients in the traditional pipe ceremony; and
- Share words at the media announcement alongside the Mayor of Calgary.
