Who We Are
Siksika Off-Reserve Affordable Housing (SORAH) is a not-for-profit organization. We exist for one primary reason: to make sure Siksikaitsitapi and urban Indigenous people have a safe, affordable, and welcoming place to live when they are away from their home community.
We know that leaving your community, even to move to a nearby town or city, can feel like a big step. You may be moving for work, school, medical care, or a fresh start.

our Mission
Our mission is simple: to provide safe, clean, and affordable housing off-reserve for qualifying urban Indigenous individuals and families. We do this by:
- renting off-reserve housing to individuals and Siksika entities/programs
- managing and maintaining a portfolio of transitional and non-transitional off-reserve housing
- collaborating with Nation and external agencies and services to improve quality of life for our residents
How We Work
SORAH purchases and manages residential properties in nearby urban areas (currently: Calgary, but with planned expansion coming soon!), funded with support from municipal, provincial, and federal government programs. Our growing portfolio includes suites with one, two, and three bedrooms. Every property is carefully maintained, repaired, and managed so that it is clean, safe, and comfortable.
We also work closely with non-profit agencies, social workers, and community organizations. Together, we make sure that our housing reaches the people who need it most.
